ESO is an on campus student organization primarily for Economics and Business students that serves as an advocate for Economics Majors by providing an interactive environment between potential employers and students via weekly guest presentations. ESO provides student services for members including, but not limited to: tutoring, resume bank, career/leadership and resume advice, social events, networking events, Federal Reserve tours and more.
The Economics Student Organization promotes the field of economics and provides career support for its members. We provide a sense of community and friendly faces for students interested in economics. Some of our benefits include career resources, networking with recruiters, economic tutoring, field trips, guest speakers, and an environment to share our passion and professionalism in economics. Numerous Fortune 500 companies attend our meetings to present information about their companies and to offer career and internship opportunities.
The Economics Student Organization fosters and strengthens the community for the students interested in economics and seeking careers related to economics. By bringing in quality speakers and providing career seeking skills, the ESO helps member academically and professionally. We offer networking with some of the biggest companies in Minneapolis and the nation. Our former members have careers at General Mills, IBM, Allianz Life, Scoular, and United Health Group among others.
Our meeting times are Wednesdays at 5.30pm in a room to be determined. Those interested in joining or seeking more information about the group can e-mail the ESO e-mail address or an ESO officer at firstname.lastname@example.org. We also send out emails to the econ listserv informing econ majors and minors of our meetings. We would love any student interested in economics. We welcome everybody and appreciate the many different perspectives that make up the economics community.
